2. General Information on Data Processing

As a matter of principle, we process our users’ personal data only insofar as this is necessary to provide a functional website as well as our content and services. The legal bases are in particular consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) and our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Personal data is deleted as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies and no statutory retention obligations prevent this.

3. Provision of the Website and Server Log Files

Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically collects data and information from the accessing device. The following are collected: IP address, date and time of access, the page/file accessed, the browser and operating system used (user agent) and the previously visited page (referrer). Processing is carried out to deliver the website and to ensure system security and stability on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log files are deleted after 30 days.

Hosting is provided by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

4. Cookies and Consent

We use cookies to make the website usable. Technically necessary cookies (e.g. a session and security cookie, the storage of your cookie consent status and a cookie to store the country market you have selected) are required for operation; the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR or Section 25(2) TDDDG (formerly TTDSG). Insofar as cookies beyond these are used, this is done only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG), which you can withdraw at any time with effect for the future.

5. Web Analytics with Plausible Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly web analytics service provided by Plausible Insights OÜ, Västriku tn 2, 50403 Tartu, Estonia. Plausible does not use cookies and does not store any information on the users’ device. No personal profiles are created and visitors are not tracked across websites.

For the statistical evaluation of the use of our website, in particular the page accessed, referrer, browser, operating system, device type and approximate location are processed. According to Plausible, IP addresses are not stored permanently but are only used to create a daily-rotating, non-persistent identifier. Evaluations are carried out in aggregated form.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the statistical analysis and improvement of our web offering pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. As Plausible does not use cookies or comparable technologies to store or read information on your device, in our assessment no consent under Section 25(1) TDDDG is required for this.

6. Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It loads and manages marketing and analytics tags on our website. Google Tag Manager is loaded as a technically necessary service; Google Consent Mode keeps marketing and analytics storage disabled until you give your consent.

In the process, data (including the IP address) may be transferred to Google servers, including in the USA; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can withdraw your consent to marketing and analytics at any time with effect for the future via “Cookie settings” in the page footer.

7. Website Optimisation with SearchAtlas

We use SearchAtlas for the technical and content optimisation of our website, in particular to analyse the discoverability, performance and presentation of our content. The provider is SearchAtlas or the service made available via dashboard.searchatlas.com.

In this context, technical access data such as IP address, browser and device information, referrer, pages accessed, time of visit and an identifier assigned to our website may be processed. Insofar as SearchAtlas stores or reads information on your device, this is done only on the basis of your consent pursuant to Section 25(1) TDDDG; otherwise, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in the optimisation and secure delivery of our web offering pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Processing may also take place in third countries, in particular the USA. In this regard, we ensure appropriate safeguards for an adequate level of data protection, e.g. EU standard contractual clauses, insofar as these are required.

8. B2B Visitor Analysis with LeadInfo

We use LeadInfo, a service for identifying business website visits. The provider is Leadinfo B.V., Rivium Quadrant 141, 2909 LC Capelle aan den IJssel, Netherlands. LeadInfo helps us to identify which companies visit our website so that we can improve our offering for business customers and target our sales activities more precisely.

For this purpose, in particular the IP address, date and time of the visit, pages visited, referrer, browser and device information as well as company information derived from publicly accessible sources are processed. The direct identification of individual private visitors is not our purpose.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in analysing business website visits and in acquiring new B2B customers pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Insofar as LeadInfo stores or reads information on your device, this is done only on the basis of your consent pursuant to Section 25(1) TDDDG.

9. Country Selection / Geolocation

In order to automatically display the appropriate country market and language, your IP address is evaluated. For this purpose, the IP address is transmitted to the service ip-api.com, which returns the approximate location (country). This may involve a transfer to a third country (USA). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a market-appropriate presentation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Your selection is then stored in a cookie so that a renewed evaluation is not necessary.

10. Contact and Enquiry Form

When you contact us via the enquiry form, we process the data you provide: name, company, email address, telephone number, desired quantity, the product or category your enquiry relates to, and your message. In addition, for technical reasons and for the prevention of misuse/spam, the IP address, the time, the browser (user agent) and the referring page are stored.

We process this data in order to handle your enquiry, prepare an offer and for any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (initiation or performance of a contract) and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries and in preventing abusive submissions).

Your enquiry is forwarded internally to the responsible staff and stored in our system. The notification email is sent via the email service provider Postmark. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider; insofar as data is transferred to the USA in this context, this is done on the basis of EU standard contractual clauses. We delete the data as soon as it is no longer required for the stated purposes; statutory retention obligations (e.g. under Section 257 of the German Commercial Code (HGB), Section 147 of the German Fiscal Code (AO)) remain unaffected.

11. Recipients and Processors

Your data is transferred to third parties only to the extent necessary, in particular to service providers who support us in operating and providing the website (hosting, email dispatch, geolocation, web analytics, tag management, website optimisation and B2B visitor analysis). These service providers are carefully selected and — where necessary — bound by data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. For transfers to third countries, we ensure an adequate level of data protection (e.g. through EU standard contractual clauses).

12. Your Rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) and to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). You can withdraw consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). To exercise your rights, a message to the contact details above is sufficient.
